Dear client,
There is a light shining at the end of the lockdown tunnel as we phase into level 4. We attempt to resume our lives, and get back to the way things were before. As a nation we know we are enduring a historical event that will one day become part of the world’s history books. Our future generations will reflect on our experiences and hopefully learn valuable lessons from us.
The most significant aspect of this global lockdown is the positive impact it has had to the environment and wildlife. Furthermore, it has allowed us to reflect on our personal life choices and what we deem important.
This said, we urge everyone to undergo a journey of change with us, a post-lockdown resolution if you will.
Here are a few ways you can change to emerge as a better “you”
Notice the small things
We had become so used to the rat-race, that we forgot to stop and appreciate the small things…. like being able to go out with friends whenever we wanted to. Stop and smell the roses.
Grow your own produce
This lockdown has left many people without an income and as a result thereof, without food. It reminds us of how important it is to have access to basic needs. A simple way to take care of your own, is to grow your own produce.
Remember the importance of rest
Burnout has become a term used far too often. Why is it that we feel guilty to just sit and do absolutely nothing for a day, after working a full week? This lock down has given many of us the opportunity to catch up on some well needed rest. Let us remember to maintain balance after the lockdown and allow ourselves the joy of rest.
Appreciate the world from afar
It has been incredible watching how the world has united during this pandemic. Initiatives have uplifted entire communities and have broken bread with one another just to ensure that no one is left without. Remember that your “neighbor” is your friend, appreciate one another.
Exercise more
It is human nature that once we are told that we cannot have something, that we want it more. This lock down has given us the appreciation for being able to go for a walk or even going for a jog. Use the freedom in the future to exercise more.
Adapt a more sustainable way of living
There is a proverb “Only when the last tree has died, and the last river has been poisoned, and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money”. The lack of human activity has allowed the earth a chance to breath. Be more friendly towards your environment in order to maintain the cleanliness which this lock down has brought.
Support local businesses more
It has been proven how easily an economy can be brought to its knees when disaster strikes. Small and local business are feeling the full impact of the lock down and deserve our support to get them back onto their feet.
Remain thankful
A final note, there is a theme that keeps echoing in our minds since the pandemic struck and we would like to share it with you. We are thankful for everything we have. Thankful to you, our client for your ongoing support. Thankful for our families and loved ones and thankful for the opportunity to live another healthy day. Remember to remain thankful for even the smallest of blessings.
We at 4D Short Term Consulting care for you and cannot wait to step into a better and brighter future.
Stay Safe. Stay Home. Flatten the curve.
